Best Bars in Zante 2026 — Your Ultimate Pre-Drinks Guide to the Strip

You've landed. The sun's still up, your hotel room smells like factor 50 and anticipation, and someone in the group has already asked the question: where are we going tonight?

Good. You're in the right place.

The Laganas Strip is one of the most concentrated stretches of nightlife in Europe — a single kilometre of bars, clubs, music and mayhem, all within walking distance of each other. No taxis. No planning. No excuses. And the best part? Drinks are genuinely cheap compared to back home. We're talking proper measures, ice-cold glasses, and cocktails that actually hit — without the UK price tag to match.

But with so many bars packed into one strip, knowing where to start (and how to build your night) makes the difference between a good night and the kind you'll still be talking about in five years. We've been on this strip longer than most. This is the real list.

Before you head out, one thing worth sorting: the Zante Bible Discount Wristband. Free with any Zante Bible event package, it gets you 5–20% off at 40+ venues across the island — bars included. Sort it before you go and it pays for itself on night one.

Cheeky Tikis — Start Here, Warn Nobody

If there's one bar that defines what Zante pre-drinks are supposed to feel like, it's Cheeky Tikis. Tiki-themed, tropical-vibed, and absolutely no chill whatsoever — in the best possible way.

The headline act is the Haribo HeadFucker. Ten spirits. Mixers. Gummy bears. It arrives looking like a holiday cocktail and hits like a freight train. Voted TUI's number one nightlife spot in Laganas, and it's not hard to see why — the atmosphere in here from late afternoon onwards is electric.

Then there's the dentist chair. Yes, an actual dentist chair. You sit down, bar staff pour a succession of shots directly into your mouth, and your night starts whether you're ready or not. Pool tables, tropical decor, and a crowd that's already fully committed to the evening.

Start here. Order a HeadFucker. Survive the dentist chair. The rest of the night will take care of itself.

Frozen Bubbles — The New One Everyone's Talking About

New for 2026, and already one of the most talked-about additions to the strip. Frozen Bubbles is the all-pink bar located right next to Barcode on the main Laganas Strip — and it's already becoming Instagram famous before the season's even started.

The concept is simple: frozen cocktails and daiquiris done properly, in a bar that looks like it was designed specifically to be photographed. Signature frozen concoctions you won't find anywhere else on the strip, the perfect hit when the Mediterranean heat is doing its thing in the afternoon.

If your group likes a frozen drink and a decent photo, this is a non-negotiable stop. Get in early — by July the queue outside is going to tell its own story.

Barcode — Proper Drinks, Proper Bar

Barcode is the kind of bar that earns its place on the strip through sheer consistency. One of the biggest venues in Laganas, right in the heart of the nightlife area, and the go-to choice if you want a drink that tastes like something.

The spirits selection here is the best on the island — top-shelf stuff, properly measured, served by bar staff who know what they're doing. There are live sports on TV and live DJs keeping the energy up, plus quality Mediterranean food if you've forgotten to eat before heading out (it happens).

Barcode is the sports bar of the strip during the day and a full-on party bar by night. Catch the game, eat something, have a few rounds before the clubs, and you're set.

Sugar — The Neon Beacon You Can't Walk Past

You'll see Sugar before you decide to go in. Bright lights, a crowd spilling out front, bass you can feel from the street — it pulls you in and you don't really resist.

Resident DJs play house and R&B every single night, there are big screens for live sports, and the cocktails are exactly what you want at this stage of the evening: strong, ice-cold, and gone before you know it. Sugar is consistently one of the most popular bars on the strip because it works. It just works.

If you're heading to IKON Club later for Nathan Dawe or a big night out, Sugar is the natural final stop before you make the move to the clubs. You'll leave louder than you arrived.

Flavors — When It's Hot and You Need Something Cold

The motto says it all: "We Put The Lush In Slush." Flavors is Zante's number one frozen cocktail bar — and given what the island looks like in July and August, that's a title worth having.

Located further down the main strip, this is the place to hit in the afternoon or early evening when the temperature is still doing what Greek summer temperatures do. Over ten different frozen daiquiri flavours, all properly alcoholic, plus non-alcoholic slush puppies if someone in the group is having an off day.

There's nothing else quite like it on the island. When it's 32 degrees and you need something cold and strong, the answer is Flavors. Every time.

Loft (O'Callaghan's Loft) — Above the Chaos, Still in the Middle of It

Not every moment of a Zante night needs to be carnage. Loft earns its place on this list precisely because it offers something different — and does it better than anywhere else on the strip.

Situated above the main action, O'Callaghan's Loft is a rooftop terrace bar with a huge expanded space, open-air seating, and a view over the entire Laganas Strip below. You can watch the whole circus unfold from up here — thousands of people, neon everywhere, the sound of multiple venues competing for attention — while sitting comfortably with a genuinely well-made cocktail in your hand.

The drinks menu is excellent. Bottle service is available. There's live music and DJ sets that hit the right level — good enough to enhance the atmosphere without drowning out conversation. And then there's Bluebell, the owner, who has a habit of appearing with a tray of complimentary shots and enough warmth to make the whole place feel like a local you've been coming to for years.

It's Irish-themed, it's welcoming, and it's been one of the first bars on the strip to open each season — from the first week of May — for good reason. Go here to recalibrate, have a proper drink, and then go back out swinging.

Relax Bar — The Civilised Start

If Loft is the place to decompress mid-evening, Relax is where you begin before you've committed to anything. Open from around midday, it's the earliest bar on the strip and the chillest — Porn Star Martinis, Mojitos, Daiquiris, and a vibe that eases you into things rather than throwing you in the deep end.

It won't stay this civilised for long. But as a starting point, there's nothing better.

Cocktails & Dreams — The Strip's Most Famous Landmark

You can't miss Cocktails & Dreams and you won't want to. The neon lights are visible from blocks away and the crowd outside is always three people deep. This is one of Laganas' most iconic bars — been on the strip for years, still pulling in massive numbers every night.

Legendary drinks deals, flair bartenders doing their thing behind the bar, old school bangers mixed in with the cheesy stuff that sounds terrible at home and incredible on a Greek island at midnight. This is authentic Zante nightlife energy in one venue. Everyone ends up here at some point. Stop fighting it.

How to Build Your Night: A Pre-Drinks Strategy

The strip rewards those who pace themselves early and let the energy build naturally. Here's how to approach it.

Start in the afternoon at Relax or Flavors — low key, cold drinks, ease into it. If the heat is up, Frozen Bubbles and Flavors are both ideal at this stage. Around early evening, move up the strip and hit Cheeky Tikis — get the HeadFucker, do the dentist chair, and let the energy shift properly.

From there, Barcode or Sugar works depending on whether you want sports and spirits or DJs and big cocktails. Cocktails & Dreams is always a viable stop in the mix — it fits at almost any point. And if at any point you need to recalibrate, go up to Loft. Sit down, get a proper drink, remember what your name is, and then carry on.

By the time Sugar's really going, the clubs are kicking in. Check the Zante Strip guide for the full layout and club rundown — and if you've got a Zante Bible event package, your next stop is already sorted.

WHAT ARE THE BEST BARS ON THE ZANTE STRIP?

The standouts are Cheeky Tikis, Loft, Sugar, Barcode, and the new Frozen Bubbles. Each offers something different — Cheeky Tikis for the experience, Loft for the views and cocktails, Sugar for the energy before clubs, Barcode for sports and spirits, and Frozen Bubbles for the Instagram moment and frozen cocktails. See the full list at the Zante Bars guide.

WHEN DO BARS OPEN ON THE ZANTE STRIP?

Relax Bar is one of the earliest, opening around midday. Most bars are open from mid-afternoon, with Cheeky Tikis, Frozen Bubbles, and Barcode all operational by late afternoon. The strip reaches full capacity from June onwards, with peak season running July through August. Loft opens from the first week of May — one of the first venues to launch each season.

DO YOU NEED TO PAY TO GET INTO BARS IN ZANTE?

No — entry to the bars on the Laganas Strip is free. You pay for your drinks and that's it. Entry charges only apply to the main clubs during special events.

HOW CHEAP ARE DRINKS IN ZANTE BARS?

Significantly cheaper than the UK. Cocktails typically run between €6–10 during peak season, with happy hour deals and early evening promotions bringing that down further. The Zante Bible Discount Wristband gets you 5–20% off at 40+ venues — free when you book an event package.

CAN I GET A ZANTE BIBLE EVENT PACKAGE TO GO WITH MY NIGHTS OUT?

Yes — the Zante Bible event package covers five of the biggest events on the island: ABODE at Pure Beach Club, Nathan Dawe Live at IKON, the Tidal Boat Party, Champagne Spray, and GRV at Infinity Beach Club. Standard package from £119, VIP from £144, with a Klarna deposit from £5. Book here.

The bars on the Laganas Strip are part of what makes Zante the kind of holiday people come back to. You don't need a plan. You just need a starting point.
